Procedure Descriptions
70450 Head CT – without contrast: During this procedure, the provider performs computed tomography, or CT scanning, of the head or brain, without contrast to diagnose any brain or intracranial abnormalities.
70470 Head CT – without contrast followed by contrast: During this procedure, the provider performs computed tomography, or CT scanning, of the head or brain, first without and then with contrast to diagnose any brain or intercranial abnormalities.
72148 Lumbar Spine MRI – without contrast: During this procedure, the provider performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the lumbar spinal canal without contrast material.
72158 Lumbar Spine MRI – with contrast: During this procedure, the provider performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the lumbar spinal canal first without contrast material, then with contrast material(s).
77067 Screening Mammography: During a screening mammography, the provider takes two X–ray views of each breast for routine screening purposes. Computer software may be used to identify abnormalities within the images.
