About the Cost of Cardiac-Related Services
The estimate above reflects costs for all medical services received between the admission and discharge date or on the date of service. The average cost displayed is based on insurance paid amount, plus patient’s copay, coinsurance, and deductible amounts. See the Methodology page for more information.
Procedures Descriptions
80061 Blood test for lipids (cholesterol and triglycerides): A lipid panel measures the level of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.
82553 Creatine kinase (cardiac enzyme) level: This lab test measures MB levels, an isoenzyme of creatine kinase that is found in various tissue and cell types such as the heart, brain, or muscles.
84484 Troponin (protein) analysis: A troponin test measures the levels of troponin T or troponin I proteins in the blood.
93017 Cardiovascular Stress Test: A test that measures how much effort, or stress, your heart can manage before an abnormal rhythm starts or blood flow to your heart muscle drops.
93270 Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) Monitoring: This service involves monitoring the patient’s heart rhythm while the patient is experiencing cardiac symptoms. A provider places electrocardiogram leads on the patient’s chest, which then record and transmit the patient’s heart rhythm information for up to 30 days.
93010 Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG), report and interpretation only: The provider interprets and reports on the results of a routine 12–lead (or more) electrocardiogram.
93005 Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) With tracing: During an electrocardiogram, the provider records the electrical conduction of the heart based on signals from at least 12 leads, wires that connect the recording device to electrodes placed in different locations on the body. The provider does not provide interpretation or report.
93000 Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) with report and interpretation: During an electrocardiogram, the provider records the electrical conduction of the heart based on signals from at least 12 leads, wires that connect the recording device to electrodes placed in different locations on the body. The provider then interprets the results of the test and writes a report.
78452 Myocardial Imaging: Multiple nuclear medicine studies of heart vessels, using a radioactive substance and a special camera to create 3D images, to determine areas of deficient blood flow.
